GEORGIAN-AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL
The 12th youth assembly was held at the United Nations. Twenty-one countries were participating. Three students of our school were representing our country Georgia:
Salome Gudishvili, Natali Natsipashvili and Giorgi Didava.
Salome tells us about the project:
We were registered to take part in this project according to the interview and recommendations of Georgian-American High School. We were making preparations for the project during several months. Our school represented the project with a title:
,,CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND JOB RECRUITMENT CENTER’’
Which had a slogan -
,,ACT TODAY FOR BETTER TOMORROW’’.
We were attending sessions for three days at the UN headquarters and we made a presentation about the IDPs from Abkhazia. Out of 21 countries only 4 received grants; Georgia was among them, which had participated in this project before, but this year it was the first case so far. We want to thank cordially to our school, the principle – Mr. Mamuka Meskhishvili and to all our teachers. The success of our school has greatly contributed to our participation and victory in this project. We are continuing to work on the project in our home country. It is our obligation from the UN to implement the program which we had represented at the youth assembly. During our stay we had an honour to meet Georgian diplomats and ,,Georgian mission in the UN’’, we discussed our project, achievements and future plans with them. Georgia is represented by five delegates in the UN, we had an official meeting with them discussing the role of Georgian youth regarding the relations between Georgia and the United Nations. They expressed great joy and satisfaction by our project.
